Tina Schula is a portrait photographer and filmmaker, born in Vienna. She has lived in New York since 1999. Her imagery is strongly informed by her love of cinema and blends the lines between fact and fiction, documentary, portraiture and staged photography.

In her personal work Tina constructs complex narrative tableaux which explore human behavior in moments of crisis. Her series ‘Ratline’ was shown at Scope Basel and included in The Collector’s Guide to New Art Photography Volume 2, by Humble Arts Foundation, New York. Her series ‘Radical Camp’ , a fictional period piece about a group of amateur extremists was released into a book and presented at the Moma PS1 Art Book Fair in New York.

Tina’s work has been published internationally including The New York Times Magazine, Bloomberg Businessweek, The Daily Beast, Vice, Nylon, OjodePez, PDN and Whitewall Magazine, among others. Her shorts and music videos for Cheap Records (Vienna) and A Touch of Class Records (NY) have been aired on MTV, VIVA Germany, Sonar Music Festival and Portobello Filmfestival.
